CNN.com - Boys arrested for stick figure drawings - Jan 26, 2005
We have achieved new measures of legal retardation.
Is it really necessary to haul off every 9 year old boy who draws a stick figure murder scene, and charge him with a felony?
Should we charge Trey Parker and Matt Stone with a felony every week when they dismember, disembowel, behead or disintegrate Kenny?
What about Bugs Bunny and Daffy? What about Marvin the Martian? He's been threatening to blow up the earth for the past 40 years.
I'm pretty sure that the first amendment covers every 9 year old boy's right to draw a stick figure of the president's head falling off if he wanted to.
Does this happen in other "developed" nations?

You're right with the quotation marks around 'developed'. The U$ are far ahead of other 'developed' nations in realising their dream of a police state. Seems they're using the '1984' script from Orwell :-( We're not that advanced (yet) in Europe.
Do you think any nice European country would grant a poor, frightened American kid like me political asylum?
Well, you could try coming over for a while before making a final decision. Don't expect me to fly to the U$, though :-) Try reading 'State of Fear' by Michael Crichton, or try '1984' first to clearly see where our world (or just some countries, at first) is heading.
Depending on your language skills you're quite free to choose a European country to suit you. Maybe try to do some job training somewhere here, as just some weeks of holiday are definitely not enough to justify long-lasting decisions.
If you do come to Europe, avoid England and Italy. Blair is as bad as Bush, worse perhaps because without a decent opposition, he could technically stay forever, at least you will see the back of Dubya in four years whatever happens. Berlusconi is just completely corrupt in Italy. Spain is quite nice as are France and Germany, all while not hugely anti Bush (They don't want to get invaded now) generally just don't like him.
Otherwise, just to get away from it all, there's always Iceland. You're guaranteed that world politics will not find you there.
I left after reading the warning.
Good riddance.
